Research Safety

Transfer of Lab Ownership Request Form

The transfer of ownership and responsibilities of a lab is only permitted if the laboratory will see no disruption or major changes in normal operations. The most common examples where this option may be appropriate would be a core facility or a teaching laboratory. If a new researcher is taking over a laboratory space from a previous PI, but will be starting up their own research distinct from the previous occupants of the space, a laboratory closing and opening form must be submitted. This ensures all appropriate departments are made aware of the changes.
