PhD STudents for Engineering-engaged Pre-seed (PhD STEP) Teams

Sponsors

College of Engineering and the Office of Research

Purpose

To further grow engagement of engineering faculty in convergent interdisciplinary research teams across campus while growing both the population and breadth of experience of PhD students in engineering.

Eligibility

2020, 2021 and 2022 Pre-Seed Cohorts:  If your original Pre-Seed team has a faculty member from the College of Engineering or has added a faculty from the College, you are eligible to apply to receive funding for a newly recruited engineering PhD student to support the plans of your team.  The PhD student will be supervised by the engineering faculty in your team.

Application

To apply, complete the short application at the PhD STEP Program Website to outline your plan and milestones.  The Pre-Seed Team Lead must serve as PI on the application and the engineering faculty must serve as co-PI. It is expected that students would be recruited to join the team in the Fall semester following application approval.

Review

Applications will be reviewed as received.
