The lab of Mary Ann Moran, department of marine sciences, was highlighted in the “Featured Lab” section of Kerafast’s newsletter. The Biotinylated sRNA Ladder, developed by Moran and postdoctoral fellows Adam Rivers and Andrew Burns, is a highly sensitive probe licensed by Kerafast and used to determine—without the use of radioactive isotopes—the identity and size of bacterial small RNA (sRNA). The ladder has been the subject of multiple purchase orders by research institutions around the world.

The various antibodies contributed by department of genetics’ Richard Meagher, who recently received the Academic Entrepreneur of the Year Award at UGA, were also highlighted in the Kerafast newsletter.
