Hang Yin, assistant professor of biochemistry and molecular biology and a member of the Center for Molecular Medicine at UGA, researches muscle stem cell biology and muscle regeneration. In 2018, Yin launched HAWA Therapeutics, LLC, a startup based on the HIF2A skeletal muscle regeneration technology developed in his lab. The company was recently awarded $25,000 in Georgia Research Alliance Phase 1A seed funding to establish proof-of-principles for two medicinal formulations of HIF2A inhibitors.
