Larissa McPherson is a Lamar Dodd School of Art master’s student specializing in jewelry and metalworks. Her unique process of incorporating organic materials into her jewelry, specifically bones, allow her to explore how pollution and plastics permeate animals and humans alike.
McPherson's jewelry pieces, like this necklace, are intentionally made to be uncomfortable, connecting physical sensation with the emotional and environmental discomfort of plastics in nature. This reflects her belief that art should not just be observed but felt to draw attention to environmental harm and ethical tension.
