The University of Georgia’s Institute for Integrative Precision Agriculture hosted a two-day international conference for global peers in the field, May 18 and 19. The theme for the event was “Local Solutions Through Global Advances.”
Integrative precision agriculture harnesses the power of technology and big data to sustainably provide for the planet’s growing population. Thought leaders in the field from around the globe converged on Athens to discuss a vision for how industry and academia can work together to solve critical issues facing crop and livestock production.
The event featured 25 speakers presenting a range of topics, a spray drone workshop that demonstrated how drone technology can precisely deliver chemicals used to protect and feed crops, and a tour of Sanford Stadium facilities led by researchers who specialize in turfgrass management.
