Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)<\/strong><\/a>
\nLocated south of Atlanta, Hartsfield-Jackson is a major international airline hub, served by major national and international airlines.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Ground Transportation” tab_id=”1494615325830-3ad55c85-f485″][vc_column_text]Bulldog Limousine<\/strong><\/a>
\nBulldog Limousine provides private town car and limousine service, as well as van service for larger groups.\u00a0 Door to door service from ATL to Athens. Reservations required.<\/p>\n

Groome Transportation<\/a><\/strong>
\nGroome Transportation currently provides 18 round trips daily between Athens and ATL. The shuttle picks up at one location at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Drop off locations in Athens are at various hotels, including the\u00a0Georgia Center, The University of Georgia\u2019s Conference Center and Hotel<\/strong><\/a>. Reservations are required. Athens Transit System<\/strong><\/a>
\nAthens has a city bus system that is free to ride for students, staff, faculty and scholars with a valid UGA ID card.\u00a0 See schedules and routes.<\/p>\n

UGA Campus Transit<\/strong><\/a>
\nThe Campus Transit System provides fare-free transportation services throughout the University campus, to limited off-campus locations and to downtown Athens, weekdays and weekends. Transportation services also are available for persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n

Health Service<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s critical to have insurance before going to a health care provider.\u00a0 If not, any clinics or hospitals may charge full price.\u00a0 Often payment is due at the time of services.\u00a0 Therefore, all international scholars must be covered by adequate health insurance.\u00a0\u00a0You must carry health insurance for yourself and your family members for the full duration of your program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The University Health Center<\/strong><\/a>
\nThe Center provides various physical and mental health services to students and other eligible members of the University community.<\/p>\n

St. Mary\u2019s Health Care System<\/strong><\/a>
\nA private, non-profit, acute care network serving a multi-county area of northeast Georgia. In addition to hospital and long term care facilities, St. Mary\u2019s provides home health care and hospice services, community wellness programs, and more.<\/p>\n

\nA health care facility serves 17 counties in the northeast Georgia area and offers an array of specialized medical, surgical & diagnostic procedures.<\/p>\n

Childcare<\/h3>\n

University Childcare Center
\n<\/a><\/strong>University Childcare Center serves children of UGA faculty, staff and students as well as families of the Athens community. Children ages 6 weeks through 4 years are accepted. The facility is conveniently located in a newly renovated 12,000-square foot facility on UGA\u2019s Health Sciences Campus. The center operates on the most stringent standards of national accrediting childcare associations with regard to child-to-teacher ratios, classroom sizes and teacher training.<\/p>\n
