University Research Animal Resources (URAR) supports UGA’s missions of research, education, and service by providing appropriate husbandry and handling of laboratory animals through animal facility management, technical assistance, training, and consultation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The URAR animal care and use program is accredited by\u00a0AAALAC International<\/a>\u00a0(Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care), is licensed by the USDA, and maintains an Assurance of Compliance with the Public Health Service.<\/p>\n

Updated FY26 Per Diem and Service Rates for CMM<\/strong><\/h3>\n

New rates will be effective January 1, 2026 and will be reflected on January invoices when billing is completed in early February.<\/p>\n

The new rates incorporate the updated Mouse\u2013CMM Satellite rate, adjustments to room rental prices, and projected increases for the next four years.<\/p>\n

Update to Policy on the Use of Outdated Drugs and Materials<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In support of the IACUC prohibition of the use of outdated drugs and materials, the URAR will responsibly dispose of expired items left in URAR facilities. \u00a0Containers that are found to be inadequately labeled will likewise be discarded unless the PI\/lab can be identified to allow for return for proper labeling.\u00a0 If you have questions or comments regarding these changes please contact URAR at 706-542-4173.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
