To ensure that our support is distributed equitably, we can assist with no more than four (4) proposals per PI per calendar year.<\/em><\/strong><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/strategic-research-development\/large-proposal-project-management\/\">Get support for large, complex proposals.<\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>We offer full-service project management of your large grant or contract proposal, from setting up initial planning meetings to editing the narrative to developing the budget. Experience shows that having several months&#8217; lead time maximizes the value of The Office of Strategic Research Development involvement, so prospective PIs should contact us as soon as possible. We request a lead time of 4-6 months.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/strategic-research-development\/new-investigator-proposal-planning\/\">Get planning support when submitting for the first time or to a new agency.<\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>This service is ideal for individual faculty who are new to submitting proposals, or those who are submitting to a particular agency for the first time. We&#8217;ll work with you to ensure that your proposal meets all requirements of an RFP, provide expert advice on proposal preparation, and recommend a document completion timeline. Requests for assistance should be made at least 8 weeks prior to the deadline.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/strategic-research-development\/resubmission-planning\/\">Resubmission planning.<\/a> If your proposal was not funded, Strategic Research Development will help you develop a systematic plan to maximize your chance of success on a resubmission. Requests for assistance should be made at least 8 weeks prior to the deadline.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/strategic-research-development\/editing-services-for-proposal-narratives\/\">Get editing assistance with your proposal narrative.<\/a> Strategic Research Development offers editing services for any research proposal. We&#8217;ll work to clarify your writing and ensure that the proposal is fully responsive to the RFP. We&#8217;ll focus on the main narrative documents, but we can look at supporting documents too (e.g., biosketch, facilities &amp; equipment). Requests for assistance should be made at least 8 weeks prior to the agency deadline for full proposals, or 4 weeks prior to the deadline for key proposal segments (e.g. Specific Aims) under 6 pages.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Get Expert Advice&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1492692513007-e265d6fe-bcda&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/strategic-research-development\/coffee-with-the-pros\/\">Get access to expert advice.<\/a> Strategic Research Development organizes a quarterly <strong>Coffee with the Pros<\/strong>, which features UGA faculty who have research funding relevant to the featured theme, experience as review panelists, and other valuable knowledge to share. Attendees can hear from the experts, ask questions, and share experiences.\u00a0Read comprehensive notes from recent Coffee with the Pros expert panels <a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/strategic-research-development\/coffee-with-the-pros\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/strategic-research-development\/148-2\/\">Mock NIH review panels.<\/a>\u00a0Our\u00a0mock NIH panels are made up of UGA faculty who regularly serve on R01 panels. Panelists review actual draft R01 proposals from selected faculty on campus. Panels run just like they do at NIH, and are\u00a0open for viewing!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/strategic-research-development\/149-2\/\">Proposal peer review.<\/a>\u00a0Our proposal peer review exchanges give faculty a chance to have their proposal reviewed by at least two other faculty members\u00a0with scientific expertise. Participants assess proposals with agency merit review criteria in mind.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/strategic-research-development\/workshops\/\">Proposal development workshops<\/a>. We co-host workshops for faculty on topics including proposal planning, writing competitive proposals, budget development, and research compliance. Materials from past workshops are available <a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/strategic-research-development\/workshops\/\">here<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Find Funding&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1492692555037-7e1aaa66-49fb&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/strategic-research-development\/pivot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Funding database (Pivot) training.<\/a> Strategic Research Development helps investigators to develop customized funding searches and alerts. In partnership with UGA Libraries, we use <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.libs.uga.edu\/grants\/pivot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pivot<\/a>, a subscription database of more than 25,000 funding opportunities from numerous sponsors.
