For both topics, there will be an informational webinar, followed by an in-person workshop to get direct guidance and feedback on documents. More detailed information on the workshops can be found at the link.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Grant writing workshops.<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0The Offices of Research Personnel and Proposal Enhancement are hosting a two-part grant writing workshop in December to help research scientists build grantsmanship skills with an emphasis on issues specific to research scientists, including space and independence.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Part 1 will be a\u00a0<\/u><a href=\"https:\/\/zoom.us\/j\/97574851394?pwd=NVJqb1ZZNngxb29XMG5nZW0rcXo0dz09&amp;from=addon\"><strong>zoom presentation<\/strong><\/a><u>\u00a0at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1<\/u>.\u00a0This session will provide a structured approach to proposal preparation, introduce the essential components of any argument for funding and assign writing tasks to prepare or Part 2.<\/li>\n<li><u>Part 2 will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 in Coverdell Room 175<\/u>.\u00a0This will be an in-person, 2-hour grant writing workshop in which participants will work to refine their Specific Aims page or other proposal summary documents that serve as a roadmap for writing a competitive proposal.<\/li>\n<li>Participants may attend both parts or just Part 1.\u00a0If you plan to attend both sessions,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/form.jotform.com\/232914710810954\">please register through this link<\/a>. The registration deadline is Nov. 20.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Promotion Dossier workshops<\/u><\/strong><u>.<\/u>\u00a0The Office of Research is hosting a two-part promotion\u00a0dossier workshop\u00a0to help research scientists understand the promotion process and prepare promotion materials.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Part 1 will be a\u00a0<\/u><a href=\"https:\/\/uga.zoom.us\/j\/94066441334?pwd=dVZFV2N3SXQwTDBpZzBCRC80OFEzUT09\"><strong>zoom presentation<\/strong><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/uga.zoom.us\/j\/94066441334?pwd=dVZFV2N3SXQwTDBpZzBCRC80OFEzUT09\">\u00a0<\/a><u>at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23.\u00a0<\/u>This session will review the\u00a0general guidelines, dossier components and timeline required by the Office of Faculty Affairs, as well as the specific requirements and criteria for Research Scientists.<\/li>\n<li><u>Part 2 will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 in Coverdell Room 104.\u00a0<\/u>This will be an in-person, 2-hour dossier preparation workshop in which participants will work to refine their vita and summary of accomplishments, and get feedback on their dossier packages. Registration will be sent in December.<\/li>\n<li>In addition to these events sponsored by the Office of Research, the Non-Tenure Track Faculty Learning Community is hosting informal writing groups, details below:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Are you starting to work on your promotion or third-year review dossier? The NTT-FLC is hosting peer writing groups to share ideas, review past dossiers, offer constructive feedback and provide other support as appropriate.
