New GE Lunar PIXImus Densiometer at BIRC

The Bioimaging Research Center recently acquired a GE Medical systems PIXImus Densitometer for small animal imaging research.

The new system allows in vivo measurement of bone mineral density and of bone or soft tissue composition and uses dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA). Image acquisition typically takes less than 10 minutes. This system is ideal for use with mice.
