The purpose of this NOFO is to support research to improve national capacity to address the growing problem of vector-borne diseases (VBDs) via continued support for regional Centers of Excellence (COE) for Vector-Borne Diseases. The primary focus of each individual COE should be on the regionally most important arthropod vectors, particularly ticks and mosquitoes, and their associated human disease agents. Applications should include a strong focus on ticks and tickborne disease agents, if relevant to the applicant’s geographic region.
