Varian Medical Systems: RFP on artificial intelligence in radiation oncology

Varian Medical Systems would like to share a request for proposals (RFP) on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in radiation oncology. They seek innovative research to develop new applications of AI in radiation oncology as well as techniques to build confidence in the clinical use of AI.

All faculty with expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) are encouraged to apply. Applicants are not required to hold affiliations with a medical school or hospital.

Who should apply?

Faculty with a background in AI are encouraged to consider this opportunity. The RFP is best suited for investigators with a solid understanding of clinical needs in radiation oncology. Multi-disciplinary teams with combined technical and clinical expertise are encouraged but not required.

What is the funding limit?

While there is no specified limit on requested funds, awards could range from $25,000 to $500,000.

Are multiple applications from one university or PI allowed?

Yes! There is no limit on the number of applications a university or PI can submit.

Is a letter of intent or concept form required before applying?

No. Applicants are asked to submit a full proposal only.
