Call for Proposals: Second Round of Global Research Collaboration Grant Program Deadline: Tuesday, October 11, 2016

UGA is launching the second round of funding for the Global Research Collaboration Grant (GRCG) program to encourage the development of sustainable international research and service activities. Grants ranging from $4,000 to $8,000 will be awarded to support preliminary international research, partnership development, and preparation of proposals in pursuit of specific sources of external funding.

The program is funded by UGA’s Office of the Vice President for Research and the Office of International Education, in conjunction with academic units. Proposals are due October 11, 2016.

Grantees may use the funding over the course of one year for videoconferencing, travel and other collaborative efforts, preliminary data collection, feasibility studies and proposal preparation. To be eligible, proposals must identify and commit to pursue specific sources of external funding as a result of the activities enabled by the grant.

To help researchers identify potential funding, OVPR and OIE have developed a database of international funding opportunities, searchable by geographical location or subject matter, available online at http://research.uga.edu/oie. Training is available to faculty and support staff to develop customized funding queries for international funding in the Pivot database.

“There is increased interest, and steady growth, in funding opportunities available for international collaboration in a variety of research areas,” said Director of International Partnerships Brian Watkins. “The GRCG program provides the catalyst at UGA for targeted international research partnerships that will generate competitive proposals and also increase UGA’s research profile around the globe.”
