{"id":43714,"date":"2022-09-13T02:00:18","date_gmt":"2022-09-13T06:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/news\/?p=43714"},"modified":"2022-10-11T09:54:31","modified_gmt":"2022-10-11T13:54:31","slug":"innovation-bootcamp-are-you-up-for-the-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/news\/innovation-bootcamp-are-you-up-for-the-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"Innovation Bootcamp: Are you up for the challenge?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As UGA\u2019s Innovation District continues to grow and support entrepreneurship and research in the community, <a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/gateway\/\">Innovation Gateway<\/a> wants to ensure that its programs represent the diversity of the university and the Athens-Clarke County community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/gateway\/innovation-bootcamp\/\">Innovation Bootcamp<\/a> is a free opportunity for faculty, graduate students, and ACC community members to network, learn the basics of entrepreneurship and hear from inspirational community members who have figured it out. With support from the <a href=\"https:\/\/research.uga.edu\/news\/truist-commits-1-25m-to-uga-innovation-district\/\">Truist Foundation<\/a>, Innovation Bootcamp provides enhanced support and resources. In this video, Innovation Bootcamp alumni talk about how helpful the experience was for them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Allyson Hester, program manager of Innovation Bootcamp, is ready to get the Fall 2022 cohort started.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019m sensing the same energy from the participants in our program,\u201d she said. \u201cEveryone is committed, ready, and excited to go on this journey with us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This semester\u2019s bootcamp is geared towards helping those in the creative field turn their art into their livelihood.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cParticipants can look forward to an engaging and educational experience, learning the basics of successful entrepreneurship from others in the community who have been in their spot before and are willing to share their own lessons learned along the way,\u201d Hester said. \u201cBootcamp will help participants learn the resources that are out there for them to be successful and will provide valuable networking opportunities.\u00a0\u201c<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over seven sessions, this cohort will hear from guest speakers and learn the basics of customer discovery, marketing and brand development, funding, and how to pitch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As UGA\u2019s Innovation District continues to grow and support entrepreneurship and research in the community, Innovation Gateway wants to ensure that its programs represent the diversity of the university and the Athens-Clarke County community.
