Innovation Bootcamp: Women’s Entrepreneurship for Graduate Students in STEM

Cohort Innovation Bootcamp

As the Innovation District moves forward and the entrepreneurship ecosystem continues to thrive at UGA, we want to make sure that our programs are truly inclusive and represent the diversity of our campus. To facilitate this goal, a focused Innovation Bootcamp program has been developed that will deliver tailored training in order to equip attendees with the key skills needed for success in an innovative, entrepreneurial environment. The Spring 2021 Bootcamp, which has been designed specifically to examine the unique challenges faced by female entrepreneurs who are also graduate students in STEM fields, begins Feb. 18 and runs through April 11.

Over the course of eight weeks, the cohort will meet weekly to learn firsthand about the basics of commercialization and targeted skill-building, as well as receive one-on-one support from experienced coaches, many of whom are successful entrepreneurs. This program is open to all UGA graduate students in STEM fields. Participants should complete their application by February 2 and those selected will be notified by February 8.

To maximize the cohort experience, it is important to complete all sessions. Please review the Innovation Bootcamp schedule below prior to committing to this program. The schedule includes a mixture of learning sessions, group project time, and one-on-one coaching. The core learning sessions will be held at the new Innovation Hub on Spring Street. The Hub has large, open spaces and flexible workspaces to accommodate social distancing. All in-person activities will be socially distanced with masks required. Team activities and coaching sessions may take place virtually. Participants should be prepared to spend 4-5 hours total per week in the program.
