April 2017 Spotlighted Entrepreneur – Dexi Liu

Dexi Liu, the Panoz Professor of Pharmacy and head of the department of pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences, College of Pharmacy, is co-founder of Lynkogen, Inc., a pre-clinical stage biotechnology startup company developing protein-based pharmaceutics for the treatment of obesity, fatty liver, and other metabolic diseases.

Dexi Liu, the Panoz Professor of Pharmacy and head of the department of pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences, College of Pharmacy, is co-founder of Lynkogen, Inc., a pre-clinical stage biotechnology startup company developing protein-based pharmaceutics for the treatment of obesity, fatty liver, and other metabolic diseases. Liu’s new venture was launched to support the commercialization of a protein drug developed in his laboratory, which combines a drug that mimics the natural hormone incretin with an anti-inflammatory, to help patients lose weight and combat Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH), and Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD).
