The Vice President for Research (VPR) works in partnership with central administration, the colleges, and major centers and institutes to advance the research enterprise at UGA.
The VPR assists with the hiring of research intensive faculty, the development of research space, major equipment acquisitions and technology services, as well as the building of interdisciplinary research programs.
The VPR connects faculty to research funding opportunities and is also responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of research administration and research compliance.
Working to encourage innovation, entrepreneurship and technology based economic development through the technology transfer and business incubator operations, as well as communicating UGA research accomplishments, impacts and needs are other important responsibilities of the VPR.
This is a very exciting time for UGA research, which has been prioritized for major expansion in the coming years.
