Research Integrity & Safety Support Services

Export Control Training

The Office of Export Control offers in-person and video-conference training and educational sessions for researchers, administrators, departments, operational units, and any other UGA group interested in learning more about export controls and economic sanctions compliance. These sessions can be tailored with as much detail and length as necessary. The Export Compliance Officer also reaches out proactively to departments and units that are potentially risk sensitive. The general export controls outreach presentation is available here: Export Control Awareness and Education Presentation

Training is required when a Technology Control Plans (TCP) is necessary. The Export Compliance Officer will personally discuss the TCP and key compliance information with all signatories to the TCP. All signatories must complete CITI’s Introduction to Export Compliance, Export Compliance for Researchers: Part I, and Export Compliance for Researchers: Part II. The CITI modules are available via the Professional Education Portal (PEP) by searching for Export Compliance in the PEP search bar.

Additionally, the Office of Research Integrity and Safety Support Services, alongside the Office of Export Control, has developed a basic training overview of export control regulations. The training is available through the UGA AALAS Learning Library accessed through the Professional Education Portal (PEP). The course is available by searching for Export Control Regulations in the PEP search bar.

The following Export Compliance modules are available via CITI, accessed via the Professional Education Portal (PEP). UGA personnel are encouraged to take Export Compliance modules that may relate to their duties and may be asked by the Export Compliance Officer to complete one or more of these modules as needed.
