Association of Public and Landgrant Universities (APLU)

APLU logoA non-profit association of public research universities, land-grant institutions, and state university systems with member campuses in all 50 states, U.S. territories and the District of Columbia. Dedicated to advancing learning, discovery and engagement, the association provides a forum for the discussion and development of policies and programs affecting higher education and the public interest.

Battelle Savannah River Alliance

Battelle Savannah River Alliance, LLC (BSRA) is a consortium of institutions led by Battelle that collectively manages the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) in Aiken, South Carolina. In addition to UGA, the organization includes Clemson University, Georgia Institute of Technology, South Carolina State University and the University of South Carolina.

BSRA brings world-class expertise in laboratory management, nuclear operations, national security and scientific research to SRNL. BSRA is committed to executing a long-range vision for SRNL with a focus on assuring scientific and technological excellence, driving a culture of operational excellence, and ensuring the continued high quality and integrity of its critical environmental management and national security missions. BSRA brings the leadership and organizational structure necessary to implement sustainable performance excellence with a focus on safety and security, laboratory growth, and facility modernization.

Council on Government Relations

COGR logoThe Council on Governmental Relations is an association of research universities located in the District of Columbia. Since its inception in 1948, COGR has been continuously involved in the development of all major financial and administrative aspects of federally-funded research.

Today, COGR’s primary function is to provide advice and information to its membership and to make certain that federal agencies understand academic operations and the impact of proposed regulations on colleges and universities. COGR helps to develop policies and practices that fairly reflect the mutual interests and separate obligations of federal agencies and universities in research and graduate education.

Georgia Research Alliance (GRA)

GRA logoA public-private partnership formed in 1990 to solidify Georgia’s technology development by partnering with its six research universities. Since 1990, GRA has helped recruit scores of world-renowned scientists, called Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholars®, and helped fuel the launch of more than 150 companies. GRA has also served as a key catalyst for two dozen centers of research excellence – university-based enterprises that serve as magnets for scientists and federal research dollars. GRA supports 15 GRA Eminent Scholars and two Distinguished Investigators at the University of Georgia.

Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU)

ORAU logoA consortium of major Ph.D.-granting academic institutions that advances scientific research and education through partnerships with academia and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). ORAU works with its member institutions to help their students and faculty through collaborations with national laboratories, federal agencies, other educational and governmental entities, and the private sector.

Southern Universities Research Association (SURA)

SURA logoA science and technology research and development organization comprising over 60 universities. SURA promotes collaboration among its members, government agencies and researchers to advance and exploit the transformative nature of information technology on the regional, national and international fronts, and facilitate better understanding of coastal/ ocean and environmental phenomena that impact our lives. SURA operates the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility for the U.S. Department of Energy through Jefferson Science Associates – a SURA/Computer Sciences Corporation joint venture.
